Today marks ‘Week 1’ of being gone from home on this hitch. Unfortunately I still have a little over 5 weeks before I leave.

The best thing is, I have a job.

I’ve been on the other side of the fence looking, and it’s no fun. I sympathize with those that want to work but can’t get hired no matter what they apply for. I belong to a Yahoo group called Between Jobs Ministries, or BJM for short. I went there while unemployed to hopefully find gainful employment. The yahoo group is set up to be an employers seeking individuals, and individuals looking for contacts within prospective companies. It works pretty well, and I had a few potentials that did not pan out, however, I still see several individuals posting to that group that have had success in finding employment.

Now that I have a job, I wish I was in a position to give back to that community, but I don’t have the authority to do so.
