Arrived in Oman without ordeal, which is always a pleasant surprise. Had my visa ready and was through customs in a matter of minutes. It pays to have someone meet you at the airport to get you through the process quickly.

I got to the hotel, the usual one, and found that my reservation had been upgraded, again a pleasant surprise! Things seemed to be going my way today. A short nights rest and back to the airport to fly out to the site.

Thus begins my 6 weeks in the desert…
